Croatia announces financial aid to neighboring BiH

ZAGREB, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) — Croatia will send 10 million euros (about 11 million U.S. dollars) in aid to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to help it deal with disastrous floods, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Sunday.
Croatia stands strongly by its neighbor and friend Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been hit by catastrophic flooding. Besides financial assistance, Croatia has sent rescue teams and equipment needed to repair the damages, he said in a statement cited by the Croatian media.
Croatia is committed to offering more assistance through its Civil Protection services, Interior Ministry, Defense Ministry and the Croatian Red Cross, depending on the specific needs of the BiH, the statement said.
At least 19 people have been killed by the devastating floods in BiH. ■
